I’m all about a good DIY. I love the idea of making your own rather than buying.
There are many advantages of making your own. The largest for me, is you know what goes into it. A lovely friend gave me this recipe for homemade washing powder and I was so pleased when I finally used up all of my store-bought powder and could make my own!
This recipe makes enough for 150 washes (yes you read that right!) and costs less than 5 cents per wash. At that price, you can’t afford not to be making your own washing powder!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of Bicarb Soda
- 2 cups of Washing Soda
- 1 cup fine salt (I used fine Himalayan Pink Salt)
Method:
- Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl and stir until combined.
- Put in glass jar/container and use 1.5 tablespoons per wash. It’s that simple!
